A true heritage, handed down from generation to generation since Marcel Livet in 1930, MARCEL LIVET wooden skis today bring back to life the passion for skiing and the history of the pioneers of French skiing by reviving traditional artisanal methods.
Marcel Livet was a passionate skier and mountaineer, sports to which he devoted a large part of his life. Together with his fellow mountaineers, he paved the way not only for the widespread practice of skiing today, but also for the beautiful and irrational quest of reaching the highest peaks.

Wood is a living, complex natural material that needs to be deciphered. This noble and authentic material does not have the standard homogeneous characteristics of most synthetic materials.
By its very nature, wood is the natural material used in the composition of skis, ensuring the best ecological footprint. Used as widely as possible, it makes up the entire core and sidewalls. It is the most represented material in skis.
Wood is part of our DNA. All our ski cores are developed from solid wood, combining the performance of ash, poplar and bamboo according to the configurations and intentions of the models. Each species brings its own balance of weight, strength and elasticity.
Mechanically, it is undoubtedly one of the key components of the construction, providing the necessary power, sometimes lightness, and always the signature of a unique snow feel.

The fiberglass and Titanal reinforcements used around the core are adapted to each configuration.
Fiberglass, an essential component in construction, is the material used to balance elasticity and mechanical strength. The choice of weave, grammage and fiber orientation forms the basis of each ski’s program.
The inlays on our skis are made in France. Laser-cut, they are then assembled and sanded by hand to ensure a perfect finish.
The cores are shaped in France. Made from ash wood assembled into cleats, they are cut, profiled and then molded in our workshops, giving them their final shape.
Our MARCEL LIVET medals in bronze or silver are cast in a French art foundry. They reflect the know-how and quality of meticulous craftsmanship.
